CNP Celebrates Successful First Year in Ireland
30.05.07 - CNP in Ireland, part of one of the UK’s leading and fastest growing Building & Project Consultants, has seen its staff numbers double, client base broaden and turnover increase by 20% in its first year of operation in Ireland. The company, which specialises in all aspects of surveying, project management, quantity surveying and construction technology, was set up in Ireland in May 2006 under Alan Baldwin, Director and head of CNP in Ireland, who was formally the head of the Building & Project Consultancy Department in Lisney. According to Baldwin CNP continues to work extensively for Lisney, with other clients including many leading Irish banks and developers such as Bank of Ireland and Treasury Holdings. Recent signings include the Carphone Warehouse.
“We chose to establish CNP in Ireland because it can offer a ‘one stop shop’ range of services previously not on offer here and give Irish clients access to top expertise and services through the company’s UK and European offices. CNP is an immensely successful company in the UK with consistent growth since its launch in 1994 and current turnover in excess of €16.9 million per annum. Our first year here in Ireland has been a profitable one with the company exceeding all its targets. This flying start makes us confident we can replicate the success story that CNP is in the UK,” said Baldwin.
Baldwin says the commercial property market will be challenging going forward but full of opportunities for a company offering such a wide range of services. He also maintains the company’s overseas expertise will put CNP in a strong competing position.
“Project management and building surveying will continue to be our core services as professional investors and financial institutions are more conscious than ever before of sound professional advice to safeguard their investments. I also envisage that a substantial part of our turnover will come from overseas, for example Germany, but we are also now starting to expand into France, Austria, Switzerland and Luxemburg. CNP already has an office in Berlin, which in conjunction with the Dublin office, has over the last 18 months reviewed over 200 European sites with an investment value in excess of €1.4 billion. Irish investors are increasingly moving into this market and we believe we can offer our clients unrivalled expertise in the region.”
“Another area which will be of major interest to our clients are the Building Energy Rating certificates which will soon be extended to non-residential buildings and will become a key part of the due diligence process,” said Baldwin.
